SHILLONG: The West Khasi Hills District Congress Committee held its first meeting on the February 8 after appointment of Boldness L.Nongum as its new president.
The meeting was attended by the representatives from all five Block Congress Committees (i.e Nongstoin Block, Mairang Block, Mawthadraishan Block, Rambrai Block and Mawshynrut Block) in the presence of James S Lyngdoh, general secretary MPCC in-charge, West Khasi Hills and Gabriel Wahlang, secretary in-charge, West Khasi Hills.
The purpose of the meeting was to reconstitute the new office bearers, strengthen and reinforce the party organization in the entire West Khasi Hills District.
Among the new office bearers of DCC are president, Boldness L.Nongum, vice president, R.E.Dkhar, general secretary, Albinus Kharbani, secretary, G.Nonglong, Treasurer, B.K.Bani.
Nongum said that all the party workers across the lines must work cohesively. He stressed on the need to bridge the gap, build people’s confidence and reach out to every corner of the District.
