SHILLONG: In the light of the erection of boundary pillars demarcating the borders of Meghalaya and Bangladesh, the Sordar of Raid Lyngkhat Khyrim Syiemship, K.K. Tangsong has requested the deputy commissioner of East Khasi Hills to look into the grievances of the Raid and the villagers.
In a complaint filed to the deputy commissioner on Thursday, the Sordar stated that the Government of India did not take into account the opinion of the residents while it has freshly demarcated new areas falling under Adverse Possession of Land, thus affecting the residents who have lost arable land.
Tangsong said with the newly demarcated pillars most of the cultivated lands from Meghalaya will be transferred to Bangladesh.
