TURA: Tura police have apprehended an accused auto-rickshaw driver who had raped a woman passenger on Sunday last.
Police picked up Sendrick Ch Momin for the alleged incident on Wednesday.
The accused had taken advantage of the girl after she got into his auto (ML08 B 0734) to be dropped off at Ringrey locality of Tura town. Instead of taking her to the mentioned destination he drove her to a secluded spot at distant Rongkhon Songgital and committed the crime and also threatened her not to disclose the incident.
