SHILLONG: An All India Congress Committee (AICC) meeting on minority affairs was held here on Monday. Chairman of AICC’s minority department, Khurshid Ahmed Saiyed along with officials of North East Minority department (AICC) attended the meet.
Syeedullah Nongrum, National Coordinator for Minority Affairs (North East) said the agenda of the meeting was to discuss the problems faced by minorities in the entire North East keeping in mind the upcoming Assam polls.
He stated that the meeting aimed to elaborate on the problems faced by the minorities and other issues deemed as matters of importance by the Committee which will be put forward before the chairman and subsequently to the party high command for redressal.
