International Women’s day

On International Women’s Day, Inner Wheel Club, Shillong felicitated Sambha Lamarr for her contributions in the field of culture, art, literature and music. Alka Kharsati was felicitated for her contributions in the field of traditional medicines. Kashmira Kaur and Sita Sukhwani were also felicitated. International Women’s Day was celebrated by Women’s Group Umkiteh Pyllun in collaboration with SOS Children’s Village Shillong and Faith Foundation, NGO. Umroi MDC Albinus Lyngdoh graced the occasion. A total of 150 women participated in the programme. On International Women’s Day on Tuesday, the women’s wing of Goreto Socio-Cultural & Welfare Society, Lower Jail Road, Shillong, visited Shanti Bhawan (The Missionary of Charity) at Bivar Road, Shillong, and distributed essential items to the inmates.
