Dehradun: Chief of Central Army Command Lt Gen B S Negi and seven other armed forces personnel on Saturday had a narrow escape when one of the tyres of a Dornier aircraft burst while landing at the Jolly Grant airport, about 30 km from the city.
Flight operations at Jolly Grant airport had been temporarily suspended after the incident.
According to IAF sources, there were four Army officers and four crew members. “All were unhurt,” the sources said.  Dehradun SSP Sadanand Date said a helicopter from IAF’s Agra airbase had arrived with a team of technical staff to replace the tyre and clear the runway so that flight operations could be restored.
