NONGSTOIN: A one-day Health Mela was organized on Saturday at Dongki Ingding, PHC by the National Rural Health Mission through the office of the District Medical and Health Officer, Nongstoin.
Health Minister, AL Hek inaugurated the event in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills among others.
Hek urged the women of Dongki Ingding and adjoining areas to opt for delivering their children at the PHC and asked the expectant mothers to go to PHCs and CHCs for regular checkups before delivery.
The highlights of the programme included songs by the students of Dongki Ingding Secondary School, free medical and health check-up and other programnmes.
