SHILLONG: The uneven distribution of the Rs 133.12 crore sanctioned by the Central government to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has not gone down well with some of the MDCs from the People’s Democratic Forum (PDF) and those supporting the Congress-led Executive Committee.
There are allegations that from the amount sanctioned, the PDF has directed Rs 46 crore to the MDCs for developmental activities in their respective constituencies while Rs 87 crore was distributed among the KHADC CEM and his ‘close associates’.
Some MDCs who did not wish to be named lamented the non equitable distribution of the money and added that the action of the CEM revealed some hidden agenda.
The MDCs alleged that Rs 87 crore was distributed among        Pynshngain N Syiem, Neil Antonio War, Process T Sawkmie, Banteidor Lyngdoh and Jansing Tynsong, while other Congress MDCs did not get any money.
The Central Plan stipulates that the Central Assistance Scheme is meant for road development, construction of toilet facilities, playgrounds, schools, bus sheds, water reservoirs etc.
