Jorhat: A rhino horn was recovered from a car and three persons, including a RPF personnel, who were travelling in it, arrested at Titabor.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Gayatri Sonowal said a team led by her on Saturday apprehended the three persons and recovered the rhino horn, weighing 1.5 kg, near Na-Ali Dholi bridge.
The three persons have been identified as Aminur Rahman, Sanjay Kumar and Surjya Thakuria, who is a RPF personnel and hails from Dibrugarh, she said.
The trio alighted from the Inter-City Express at Mariani and boarded a car which was on the way to Jorhat when the vehicle was intercepted by police, the SDPO said.
Sonowal said it was suspected that the horn was of one of the rhinos killed either on April 9 and 13 under Burapahar Range of Kaziranga National Park. (PTI)
