SHILLONG: The State BJP on Monday said that Chief Minister Mukul Sangma was afraid of a rejuvenated BJP in the State.
In reaction to the Chief Minister’s comments in a section of the media that he would highlight the dangers of BJP in the campaigns for Tura by-poll, BJP spokesperson LG Laloo said on Friday that the intention of the Chief Minister was just to win praises from the party bosses in Delhi.
“When the state is reeling under financial crisis, corruption and  mismanagement of Central funds , the Chief Minister is resorting to mere rhetoric to fool the people of Garo Hills,” Laloo said.
The BJP also asked the Chief Minister to focus on comprehensive development instead of playing fiddle with ‘majority and minority’ issues, according to Laloo.
The party also expressed confidence that with the support of BJP, the NPP, an ally of NDA, will emerge victorious in Tura as Congress is a divided house.
