Woman files complaint against EJH cop

SHILLONG: A woman filed an FIR against the officer in charge of Khliehriat Police Station, Lumlang K. Lyngkhoi on Friday accusing him of harassing and threatening her and even sending his wife to assault her.
The complaint was lodged with the Superintendent of Police, Jowai.
Accompanied by members of CSWO (I), Khasi Jaintia National Union and Hynniewtrep National People’s Front (HNPF), the woman, Ridaroy Shadap from Nongjngi, Khlieh Tyrshi, Jowai, told media persons here that Lyngkhoi, the father of her sixth child, started to send her threatening messages when she approached him for maintenance of the children. “On April 4, he sent his wife Melita Pakma, who came with three other women at my small shop and assaulted me and even cut my hair besides taking away some cash from the shop,” Shadap alleged.
She added that though an FIR was filed against the cop’s wife on the same day no action has been taken against her till date.
She urged the SP’s office, Jowai to take action against the cop and ensure that justice is served.
