Bid to kidnap minor girl foiled in city

SHILLONG: The alertness of a person saved the life a minor girl on Thursday.Two unknown miscreants abducted the 12-year-old  girl Mehak Banu from Mawbah area by telling her that he mother had called her and was waiting for her.The incident took place when the girl came out of the school after completing her examination.The duo took her to Jhalupara point and told her that the mother was waiting in a black car.
But when she approached the vehicle, he was pulled inside by a man who was already seated in the vehicle and drove to Upper Shillong, the CSWO President Agnes Kharshiing said.  An alert person, who was riding a scooter, heard Mehak, a Class VI student of Little Angel School of city, screaming and immediately started to follow the car.  The miscreants fled on seeing him leaving the girl at Upper Shillong and the man brought the girl to Rilbong point. She later reached home safely and narrated the incident to her mother.
The mother later sought the help of General Secretary CSWO, Evangeline Thabah who assisted her to report the matter to police.
