SHILLONG: One Maheshwar Rai (69) was assaulted by unidentified miscreants near Umsohsun on Tuesday evening.
Police informed that Rai who stays near Shanti Niketan Hotel was badly injured in the incident.No one has been arrested in this connection.
Meanwhile, in another incident, one Hari Chetrri was badly assaulted by group of unidentified miscreants at Pommura, East Khasi Hills district on Monday night.According to the victim, there were around six people who came to assault him. The victim is currently undergoing treatment at Nazareth Hospital.
