Lightning kills two in State

SHILLONG: Two persons died in the state in the last couple of days after being struck by lightning. On Saturday, body of one Haptobachen Nongrem (39) of Langkyrding was found lying with blood oozing from his right ear in a forest near NEIGRIHMS at Mawdiangdiang. The deceased is believed to have been struck by lightning and died on the spot. In a similar incident on May 12 at around 3.30 pm, lightning struck one Mar O. Kyndait at Thlu Umwi village. The victim died on the spot.
