SHILLONG: President of FKJGP Mawryngkneng Circle, Kynsai War, has slammed the BDO of Mawryngkneng C&RD Block, Lyngskor Lyngdoh, alleging that the latter had resorted to political vendetta by seizing coal trucks belonging to relatives of the former.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, War said, “Following our complaint filed against the BDO regarding irregularities in Indira Awas Yojana implementation in Mawryngkneng to the deputy commissioner of East Khasi Hills on April 20, the BDO took it on a personal note and seized all coal laden trucks belonging to my relatives.”    He added that when the coal trucks were seized, he was away at Borsora. “The BDO filed an FIR against me when I approached the Mawryngkneng PS to attend to my relatives as well as my brother whose truck was seized on May 14,” War said, adding that the BDO’s assertion that the challan was blank was false.
He questioned the BDO’s intentions to seize the trucks of his relatives only while there were numerous trucks plying on the road.
Speaking of the IAY implementation, War alleged that deserving beneficiaries were not getting their due and there may have been ‘sneaky arrangements’ made by the people responsible for implementation of the scheme.
It may be reminded that the BDO had filed an FIR and accused War of engaging in illegal coal transportation in violation of the NGT ban.
