SHILLONG: The findings of the inquiry conducted by the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) over the alleged financial irregularities and other anomalies which include the sale of Mawpat cemetery land, surreptitiously renting out shops at Iewduh under the leadership of Paiem Latho Manik Syiem, has shaken some Myntris, who till date have denied having any hand in the dealings.
The inquiry was conducted by Magistrate L B Laitthma, after 29 Myntris of the Hima Mylliem expressed their opposition to the functioning of the Hima under Latho Syiem.
Four Myntris— N. Kharsati,  K. Kharkrang,  R. Kharbudnah and
M. Patharlariew, came under the scanner after the inquiry.
Denying his role in the entire episode that led to toppling of the previous executive dorbar under Latho, Myntri Kharsati told reporters that he was not aware of the sale of cemetery land at Mawpat to the Church bodies.
“It was back in the year 2009 that we decided not to sell the cemetery land at Mawpat but even after the decision, the issue still lingers,” he added.
The four have now joined the executive dorbar of Ricky Nelson Syiem and the latter welcomed them, while urging them to work selflessly.
“We wish to do away with the word “rebel” Myntris as we want to be united and work together for the betterment of the Hima,” Kharsati added.
