TURA: A teacher from Dalu who was accused of attempting to rape his own student has been arrested based on an FIR filed with the women police cell of the Tura police station.
According to the FIR filed by the father, a teacher of a local school in Dalu, Arindom Das attempted to rape his 12 year old daughter after dropping her home after tuition. The incident took place on May 16 at the victim’s residence at around 8.30 PM.
The rape attempt was thwarted after the victim’s grandmother came upon the scene.
“My daughter is traumatized and is undergoing counseling at Tura. I pray that my daughter copes up soon. We want Arindom to be given stringent punishment as per law,” the victim’s father said.
The father of the victim also informed that the teacher was known to them as their daughter goes to the school where he teaches.
