TURA: The Garo Baptist Convention (ABDK) while appreciating the State government’s move to impose restrictions on liquor stores in the State as per the High Court order has at the same time expressed displeasure over the alleged violation of the order by certain proprietors and the department concerned.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the ABDK said some proprietors in Garo Hills area including the department concerned were making fabricated interpretation and manipulating the order to accommodate their own vested interests.
It urged the government not to dilute the amended rules in any way and to strictly enforce all the provisions of the law in the best interest of the general public.
