Entire NE behind BJP: Sonowal

SHILLONG: Newly elected Assam Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Sarbananda Sonowal has said that the people of North East have welcomed the initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking was speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the inauguration of Assam Bhawan here on Thursday. Reacting to a query on whether the BJP will play a major role in 2018 Assembly elections in Meghalaya, the former Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs said that the entire population of North East is wholeheartedly supporting the saffron party which was a good thing to happen for the party.
“The Prime Minister is giving priority to the North East and he has even directed all Ministers to visit the region on a regular basis,” he pointed out.
Sonowal added that the growth of the region will be faster through the Act East Policy.
