Youth Cong leader quits party

SHILLONG: Youth Congress leader from Shillong South constituency, Ravi B. Kharmawphlang resigned from the primary membership of the party on Thursday.
In his resignation letter sent to party president Sonia Gandhi, Kharmaw-phlang said that he has been an ardent member of Indian National Congress for about 30 long years, since his days in the NSUI under the president ship of M. Niangti and has worked under several dynamic leaders of both state and centre.
“I was assigned several important assignments which included election duties in other states and was also the IYC appointed in-charge  of the central election control room in Guwahati for the party, when Tarun Gogoi was elected for his second term as Chief Minister in Assam,” Kharmawphlang said while pointing out that in spite of his contributions at various levels, he has been  without any assignment or duty for reasons best known to the party for the last seven years.
