The Prime Minister chose to speak in English both during the NEC plenary session and at a public meeting held at Polo Grounds on Friday.    During his speech at Polo Grounds, Modi at times spoke in Hindi aimed at conveying his message to the common man about what benefits they will reap from various central initiatives. In his address, Modi referred to the plan of Centre to set up BPO industry in Northeast due to the large number of English speaking youths.

Selfie in stalls
The Prime Minister as per the request of women who were manning the exhibition stalls at Polo Grounds highlighting the achievements of various Self Help Groups in the Northeast posed for selfie at least on two occasions. The Prime Minister was seen going to the stalls and keenly observing the Northeast products. He also acknowledged that the artefacts and products displayed in the exhibition were indeed impressive.
Vegetarian lunch
The lunch provided at Convention Centre of Hotel Pinewood  was vegetarian after the NEC Plenary session on Friday afternoon much to the surprise of the delegates. The delegates from the Northeast who were mostly non vegetarians, however, were seen hurriedly finishing the meal as they had to catch up with other programmes.
