Lapang, Pala deny meeting BJP leaders

SHILLONG: The MPCC president DD Lapang and Lok Sabha member from Shillong Vincent H  Pala, whose names figured in the letter written by Chief Minister Mukul Sangma to Congress president Sonia Ganhdi as those who had  met the BJP leaders in the context of current political crisis, have  denied ever meeting any Saffron party leader regarding the leadership issue.
“I have never met the BJP leaders. There is no intention to meet anyone and there is no thought in my mind to do so,” Lapang said here on Wednesday.
According to him, he had never led any group of dissidents in the recent past to meet the BJP leaders while asserting that the party would  stand united.
“We will not burn our house even though there are differences within the family”, Lapang said.
When contacted, Pala also echoed the same by stating he never met the BJP leaders to take advantage of the volatile political situation.
