SHILLONG: The recruitment of drivers carried out by the District Selection Committee in Tura has come under scanner after irregularities in the selection process were brought to light by a pressure group.
The GSU, which unearthed the ‘anomaly’, reported the matter to the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner.
According to the GSU, while the results of the written test for the recruitment were declared on April 19, the list of successful candidates was made known on May 26 following the “practical test” of driving skills.
“The final list had two roll numbers (706 and 925) which did not feature in the initial written test result sheet,” the GSU pointed out.
The GSU demanded that the discrepancy be corrected at the earliest and called for the interview scheduled for June 6 and 7 to be postponed until the matter is resolved.
