SHILLONG: An institute in Kolkata, Minerva Institute of Medical Technology, allegedly ill treated students from the state forcing at least five of them to flee from the campus.
It is learnt that the five male students, who were sent by the State Government to attend skill oriented free training courses under Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training, fled from the institute following differences with the management.
It is further alleged that before fleeing on Sunday morning, the students had sent an email to the employment exchange at Shillong highlighting their plight but received no reply.
Agnes Kharshiing, president, CSWO alleged that there are reports that the teachers of the institute were using google to teach anatomy and physiology to students of class VIII and above.
There were also allegations that the management of the institute did not allow the students to leave without depositing some documents.
The students claimed that they approached the management to release them but to no avail.
