Govt confident of meeting toilet construction target

SHILLONG: The State Government is confident of completing the target of constructing 4.11 lakh toilets in Meghalaya under the ambitious Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the next two years.
Informing this here on Wednesday, State Nodal Officer for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, RK Pandey said that the State has already achieved nearly 80 per cent of its target.
This year, the department has set a target of constructing 52000 toilets in the state out of which 2500 have already been constructed.
“We will not wait till the year 2019. We are quite confident that we will achieve the target in 2017-2018,” he said.
