SHILLONG: The Khasi Student’s Union Jaintia Hills district Unit has urged the state Government to earnestly take the HNLCs call for peace talks as it is the only militant group from the Khasi-Jaintia community.
In a statement issued here, the organization stated that the state is in need of peace and security if the state Government wants to boost tourism in the State.
“To invest huge amount of money on Rock On 2 in the name of raising revenue through tourism is wastage of money. There is less inflow of tourists to Iraq, Syria or the Middle East countries in    comparison to other countries who have peace and security,” the organization said.
The organization has urged the representatives from Khasi-Jaintia community to put aside their differences and work towards the betterment of the state.
