SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner P.S. Dkhar on Friday asserted that there is no shortage of LPG cylinders in the State since all concerns with regards to shortage of LPG have been addressed by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).
Speaking to reporters here, the deputy commissioner said distributors/ gas agencies cannot make any more excuse and blame IOC for any shortage of LPG.
“Now if there is any shortage of LPG it has to be the fault of the distributors,” Dkhar stated.
According to Dkhar, the district administration held meetings with IOC officials and the supply of LPG cylinders for Shillong has been enhanced.
He warned of strict action against distributors who fail to provide LPG cylinders to the customers as per the demand.
Reacting to a query about some distributors not adhering to the order of home delivery of LPG, the deputy commissioner said the price being charged from customers for LPG is inclusive of the home delivery and the distributors are bound to provide home delivery to the customers.
“Any such complaint can be brought to our notice and we will take immediate action,” he said.
