NONGSTOIN: After the West Khasi Hills police arrested two drug peddlers selling cough syrup formulation containing narcotic drug codeine phosphate at Nongstoin recently, drug addicts here now are frustrated since the Drug Inspector has warned all drug stores and pharmacies against selling these medicines without the doctor’s prescription.
However, on Saturday a manager of one pharmacy at Nongstoin was shocked to see one customer using the prescription from Robert Hospital, Shillong came to the pharmacy to buy Diazetam which is a sleeping pill along with three bottles of Bronolac syrup.
The manager got suspicious as he felt that no doctor would ever prescribe such medicine.
