Only 50 per cent of queries answered in House
SHILLONG: KHADC Chairman Mansturdy Nongrem directed the Executive Committee (EC) led by CEM PN Syiem to be prompt and lucid while giving the replies raised by members of the House during the summer session.
Observing the laxity on the part of EC, the chairman said that its poor performance is due to its inability to provide timely replies to several questions raised by members of the House.
“The EC has been able to reply to only around 50 percent of the questions. There were numerous questions raised but the replies are very less. The EC should provide proper replies promptly,” Nongrem said.
Speaking to reporters after the summer session, HSPDP MDC, Pyniaid Sing Syiem criticized the Executive Members (EMs) as replies to most of the queries raised were answered by the KHADC CEM.
Another HSPDP member, Teilinia Thangkhiew expressed dismay over the fact that most questions raised were not answered properly by the EMs concerned.
“Some had also asked for notice leaving the questions unanswered,” she said. During the summer session, the Opposition members raised 28 questions while answers were given only for 14 .
