SHILLONG: Days after the NEEPCO accused Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Satish Verma of trying to tarnish the image of the Corporation’s management,the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal for curtailment of tenure of Verma from the post of CVO, NEEPCO on Monday. The services of Verma are now at the disposal of Ministry of Home Affairs.
Meanwhile, Devendra Kumar Verma, CVO, Damodar Valley Corporation, has been given additional charge of CVO, NEEPCO till the time a regular appointment is made.
Verma, was accused of filing a false complaint against PC Pankaj, Chairman and Managing Director of corporation, who had superannuated and two other senior officials.
The NEEPCO had on Saturday accused the CVO of trying to tarnish the image of the management of the corporation.
Earlier, Verma had lodged complaints against three senior officials of the Corporation including its Chairman & Managing Director, for allegedly extorting money from his subordinate and preventing Verma from discharging his duties.
The NEEPCO has been in the news of late with the employees unions of the Corporation recently slamming the management of taking arbitrary decisions much to their dismay.
Meanwhile, Gurdeep Singh, CMD NTPC Ltd. assumed additional charge of the post of CMD NEEPCO on July 4.
