Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of BJP on Thursday reiterated its demand for imposition of President’s Rule in the state and urged the Governor General Joginer Jaswant Singh to exercise his special power under Act, 356(1) in this regard.

Highlighting present situation in the state, the party said the pathetic situation with acute leadership crisis in the ruling Congress government is stalling various development activities, while peace and tranquility and security of the people have been hijacked, a BJP release said here.

The Party further demanded to call a special Assembly session to prove the confidence of the ruling Congress government in the state, as the government has lost its confidence and has no morale right to stay in office and calling back Minister, Parliamentary secretaries and MLAs to state, who are in Delhi since the last few months.

There was complete breakdown of governance and bandh calls, killings, kidnappings, dharnas and rallies are becoming order of the day in the state capital and in other district headquarters, the BJP alleged.

The party appealed to all sections of people for peace and harmony and overcome the present crisis by maintaining restraint, fostering, brotherhood and putting coordinated efforts to bring back normalcy, the release added. (UNI)
