TURA: Anganwadi workers and helpers of the State under the banner of the All Meghalaya Anganwadi Workers & Helpers Union (AMAWHU) have decided to go on an indefinite cease work from July 20 in protest against non-payment of their honorarium for several months.
Earlier, leaders of the AMAWHU and the AGHAWA on June 29, had met the Director of Social Welfare in Shillong where they were assured that their pending honorarium would be released within a week.
However, nothing came off the assurance even after two weeks compelling them to go on an indefinite cease work.
