Imphal: Unidentified miscreants have exploded a bomb in the headquarters of the hill district of Senapati in Manipur, the police said on Monday.
The explosion took place on Sunday around 7.30 PM at a room of the Planning office located in the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, a police officer said. Although no one was injured in the explosion, it caused smashing of glass panels and minor damage to office properties, the officer said.
Following the blast, police personnel rushed to the site and conducted an inspection.  No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, the police officer said.
Senapati district has a strong presence of several ethnic groups and is a stronghold of hill-based militant outfits.
