Learnt to stop responding to social media trolls: Kalki

Actress Kalki Koechlin, who has created a niche for herself in Bollywood industry, is one amongst many celebrities who have faced the burnt of social media trolls. But she says she has learnt not to respond to them. Asked if social media trolls and negative remarks affect her, Kalki told: ‘Of course it affects me, but I have learnt to stop responding to them.’
The Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara star, who was in Bengaluru last week to pick the Draw of Lots for the Kingfisher Ultra Bangalore Derby 2016, says one needs to have a ‘good balance’ about ‘what is it that you are in social media for’. Kalki, who has over 700,000 followers on Twitter, says that for her, social media is a great way for interacting with her well-wishers.
‘For me it is a great way of interacting with fans and keeping in touch with the work which I do… which is not just my film work but also theatre and writing. So I enjoy social media for that,’ Kalki said. But the actress stressed that she knows ‘that not everything that comes out of social media is useful, helpful or constructive’.
On the work front, Kalki will be seen in the upcoming film A Death In The Gunj, Konkona Sen Sharma’s directorial which also features Vikrant Massey, Gulshan Devaiah, Om Puri, Tillotama Shome, Tanuja and Ranvir Shorey. (IANS)
