SHILLONG:  The dissident Congress legislators in the state are curiously watching the development in the neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh with the Supreme Court restoring the Congress government led by Nabam Tuki.
Earlier, the state Congress legislators who were not happy with the style and functioning of the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma had indicated an Arunachal like initiative to oust the Chief Minister from power.
However, with the new development, the dissident legislators in Meghalaya may adopt a different strategy, a party leader who is close to the dissidents, said.
When contacted, a dissident legislator who does not wish to be named said that he is carefully analyzing the political situation in the neighbouring state and added that ultimately what matters is the numbers in the Assembly.
Neither MPCC president DD Lapang nor the working president Deborah Marak reacted on the developments in Arunachcal Pradesh despite calls were made to them to get their response.
