43 hurt as quake shakes Bali

Jakarta: At least 43 people were injured when an undersea quake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale rocked Indonesia’s Bali province Thursday, officials said.

A foreign tourist was among the injured, Wayan Suki, an official, told Xinhua by phone.

The tremors were felt in nearby provinces of East Java and West Nusa Tenggara.

The quake struck at 10.16 a.m. with its epicenter at 143 km southwest of Nusadua in Bali and with a depth of 10 km under the sea bed. (IANS)
