Thefts continue unabated

SHILLONG: From CPUs to dressed chicken, thieves are laying hands on whatever they can get access to, resulting in the spurt in crimes. On July 12, unknown miscreants stole dressed chicken weighing 35.5 kg and valued around Rs 7810 while a woman was boarding a local taxi at Motphran Point, Shillong. The woman Quisilda Syiem lodged a complaint in this regard.
Meanwhile, on July 18 night, unknown miscreants broke into the United Bank of India, Nongthymmai branch and stole one computer monitor, one CPU and a CCTV set from the bank premises.
In another incident on July 17, one Yaldonald Kharumnuid stole household articles from his parental residence at Mawtawar, Shillong and threatened the family members with dire consequences.
On July 16, unknown miscreants stole one cell phone form the residence of Rashika Agarwal at Lower Mawprem, opposite Hindu Mission. Unknown miscreants also stole oil from the transformer located at 1st MLP Bn. Campus Mawiong recently. W Warjri, Area Manager, Area-II, Shillong Distribution, MePDCL, Mawlai Nongkwar lodged a complaint that on July   15, he detected that oil from the transformer located at 1st MLP Bn. Campus Mawiong had been stolen causing damage to the equipment.
Meanwhile, on the intervening night of July 15 & 16, unknown miscreants stole one car battery at Police Bazar.
