Flood hits Garo Hills

SHILLONG: After West Khasi Hills, incessant rain for the last many days has inundated     many low lying areas of Garo Hills due to the flow of water from Brahmaputra river.
As per initial estimate, over 35,000 people from different villages of Rajabala, Bhaitbari, Hallidayganj and Phulbari of West Garo Hills were affected by the flood.
An official source said on Monday that several people have been provided shelter in relief camps in West Garo Hills.
