SHILLONG: A spacious office in a city locality holds key to the future political developments in the state.
Speculation was rife recently about the opening of an office by KHADC CEM P N Syiem at Nongrim Hills with some sources terming it as the office of the new political party to be formed by Syiem.
However, when contacted on Monday, Syiem said over phone from Delhi that he is very much with  Congress and added that it was his ‘personal political office”.
According to Syiem, the very objective of setting up the office is to get opinion from several quarters to discuss the political agenda, as “we are currently in a bad situation, as there is anxiety among the youths about their future and we need to think about the over- all interests of people of the state”.
According to Syiem, the likeminded Congress legislators are also supporting his cause.
“However, I am still with the Congress party, but the intention   of setting up the office is to get opinion of people, intellectuals and others so that what is best for the state can be decided”, Syiem said.
According  to Syiem, the spacious office will facilitate collection of views and opinions of people  coming from all over the state which will in turn help to form a new vision which the state is longing to have.
