SHILLONG: The All Meghalaya Malaria Programme Workers Association has issued a month’s time to newly appointed Health and Family Welfare Minister Roshan Warjri to get acquainted with the long pending demands of the workers and reinstate their services.
Speaking to media persons after a meeting with the Health and Family Welfare Minister here on Thursday, publicity secretary of the Association Basil Lyngdoh said that they have decided not to go ahead with the hunger strike at the moment.
“After a month we will meet the minister again,” he said.
Earlier, the Malaria Programme Workers, who had called off their stir on August 27, had set a September 8 deadline for Chief Minister Mukul Sangma to invite them for talks.
When contacted, Warjri said that she has to examine the memorandum which was submitted by the Association.
