Conference
The department of Biomedical Engineering,  NEHU in collaboration with  the Indian Society of Biomechanics will organize a two-day national conference on ‘Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Engineering (BIOREHAB 2016)’ on September 15 and 16 in the auditorium, old Guest House, NEHU.
Eye camp
Mission Nethralaya,   Rum Jingkieng   organized a free eye camp  at Wahlang Parish where more than   300 people including students came for their check up.  A free eye check up camp was also organized at Mawkyrwat   Sngap Syiem College where 200 people participated in the camp.
Blood donation
St Anthony’s College   will   organize a voluntary blood donation camp on September 15. The inaugural function will be held in the conference hall of the college at 10 AM.
Meeting
A general body meeting of the postal employees of Shillong was held on Saturday at Shillong GPO premises with Commander R. N. Parashar, Secretary General, National  Federation of Postal Employees, New Delhi who reviewed the outcome of the aftermath of the deferred indefinite strike of July 11 and the subsequent development.  The gathering was presided over by Commander Rogers Warlarpih where various issues faced by organised and unorganised sectors were discussed.
Essay competition
Metallica-Sargam Sports & Cultural Club, Shillong, will be observing the Hindi Diwas and organize a Hindi essay writing competition in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Shillong on September 17 at R.B.AnupChand Hindi Sec.School, Shillong.
