Villages without electricity for 5 months

SHILLONG: Few villages in Pynursla including Mawkliaw, Tyrngei, Mawlatang and other adjacent villages experienced blackout for months despite repeated complaints to the concerned authorities.
Sordar of Lai Kyntoit, Rojian Khongshei said that residents of Mawkliaw experienced blackout for more than a month.
At Mawlatang, the situation is worse with the village experiencing a blackout for over 5 months since the month of May.
Though the MeECL branch at Pynursla has been notified, locals lamented that no action has been taken so far by the corporation.
