City celebrates first  Mask Festival

SHILLONG: For a section of the residents of Shillong, Saturday evening was all about groovy trance and masquerades as the city for the first time hosted ‘The Mask Festival’ at Polo Ground parking lot.
Electronic dance music pepped up the festival, which took its inspiration from ‘The Carnival of Venice’. Well-known DJs and performers like SuperTab kept the guests on their feet.
Prashant Pilania, one of the organizers, said the festival was planned to provide a different kind of entertainment, besides the regular rock and pop music. The festival was organised by SCREAM, Shillong City Rocking Entertainment And Management Group.
When asked whether the festival would be an annual affair, co-organiser Raj D. Kashyap said it would depend on the success of Saturday’s show.
