New Delhi: Lonely Planet, the largest travel guide book publisher in the world, has selected Meghalaya as one of the top ten tourist destinations in Asia.
Lonely Planet released its annual list of top destinations to visit around the world including the top ten destinations of Asia. Meghalaya was placed 9th in a list which boasted of the likes of Shanghai and Hong Kong
Surprisingly no other tourist destination in India found a mention in this top ten list. The other destinations are Hokkaido (Japan) followed by Shanghai, Jenoju (South Korea), Con Dao Islands (Vietnam), Hong Kong, Ipoh (Malaysia), Permuteran (Indonesia) among others.
