Ri Bhoi students for conservation of environment

Nongpoh: As many as nine different schools in Ri Bhoi District have joined hands in conserving the environment and combat wildlife related crimes.
The Eco Clubs and Birds Haven formed by these nine schools, was officially inaugurated on Friday by the Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner, CP Gotmare at a programme organized by the Basin Development Unit, Ri Bhoi District at the community hall of Umtasor Mawdkhar.
Peter Thorose, a well known environmentalist and principal of St. Peter’s School & College, Shillong with his students attended the programme. The teachers and students of these nine schools and the headmen were also part of the programme.
