KHADC gives nod to Shillong Western bypass

SHILLONG: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has given No Objection Certificate (NOC) as sought by the state Public Works Department (PWD) for the construction of the Western Shillong bypass.
Executive Member in charge Land Hedrian Lyngdoh told reporters that KHADC has already given NOC to the state government for construction of the Western bypass starting from Mawmaram connecting Umiam lake with GS Road.
Hedrian also informed that since the road will pass through both West and East Khasi Hills districts, two separate letters were sent to the Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts by the KHADC.
