SHILLONG: The Opposition MDCs in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) have approached the Divisional Bench of the High Court of Meghalaya seeking redressal in the alleged disparity in allocation of funds by the Council’s executive committee for development projects in various constituencies.
The writ petition filed by the Opposition MDCs will be taken up by the High Court on Wednesday.
Stevie Marak, GHADC MDC from Boldamgre, said even tenders for the development  projects were called by the EC in a hushed manner. Tender papers for several projects were opened without the knowledge of the Opposition, he added.
“Only the contractors who are hand in glove with the EC were able to submit the tender papers at the stipulated deadline as enough time was not given for the tenders,” he said.
