Pressure group urges Pala to execute development projects

Nongpoh: The Shakoikuna Area of Inter-state Border Development Organization (SAIBO), an organization comprising of various headmen looking after the welfare and development of Shakoikuna Area, which still lacking behind in terms of development comparing to other areas of Ri Bhoi, has urged MP, Vincent H Pala to put his assurance into effect for the benefit of the local people of the area.
Liander Nongshli, Chairman of SAIBO informed that the organization in a meeting with Vincent H Pala, has put forward various issues pertaining to the development of the backward area where the MP assured the delegation that he will take up the issue with the State Government.
Nongshli also informed that the organization had requested the MP for availing scheme for blacktopping of a 1.6 kilometers road from Umdapdumu to Shakoikuna.
The MP had assured them that he will take up this matter with the State PWD Minister.
‘Other requirements put forth by the organization to the MP includes creation of a new Sub-Center at Shakoikuna, construction of new school building for RCUP School Umdap, and a football ground at Umdaprngi,’ he said.
Nongshli on behalf of the organization expresses their gratefulness to the MP for contributing Rs 5 lakhs under the MP Scheme to the Catholic Church of Umdap for the upcoming Silver Jubilee celebration and also for consecration of Deacon Kmenlang Nongrum of St Franciss Asisi falling under Byrnihat Parish in Ri Bhoi.
