Local holiday
The West Garo Hills District Administration has declared a local holiday on October 25 on account of the 26th death anniversary of late Captain Williamson Sangma, the first chief minister of Meghalaya. A commemoration programme will also be held at William Point, Tura.
Wildlife Week
Wildlife Week celebration will culminate on October 28 with a march titled ‘Walk for Wildlife’ that would start from Madan Iewrynghep football ground, Laitumkhrah from 9:30 am. This will be followed by a function at Anton Hall.
Pensioners’ meet
The first social gathering of the pensioners (all grades) who retired from the Customs & Central Excise, PAO and Service Tax Department of Shillong Commissionerate will be held at Central Excise Guest House, Morello (Rap’s Mansion) on Oct 28.
Fellowship day
The Meghalaya Scout Guide Fellowship (an adult movement of friendship & service) will celebrate its fellowship day on October 28 from 7 pm as a fundraiser at the Bharat Scouts and Guides headquarters.
