SHILLONG: Concerned over the lack of proper inspection in schools that hampers its functioning, the State government has decided to fill the vacant posts of inspectors and other officials.
Recently, several media reports had exposed lack of facilities in various schools.
An official source said as the departmental promotion has been cleared all vacancies in the district level will be filled.
“Since the vacant posts will be filled up, the manpower problem in the department will be addressed, which will lead to education officials, especially the inspectors carrying out constant checking to correct the anomalies in the functioning of the school,” the source added.
When contacted, School Education and Literacy Minister Deborah Marak said all the vacancies at the district level will be filled as the vacancies have been lying for long.
